Get ready to kickstart your academic journey with the Welcome Weeks at the German University of Digital Science!  

From April 1–11, 2025, we’ve prepared an exciting program to ensure your smooth transition into our innovative digital campus. This opportunity is open to all students registered for master’s and micro degree programs this spring.

These two weeks are packed with hands-on workshops, valuable resources, and opportunities to build lasting connections. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Discover German UDS: Familiarize yourself with our virtual campus, meet key staff members, and explore the unique environment that will host your academic experience.
  • Meet the Faculty: Get to know our professors, their pioneering research, and the cutting-edge courses they teach.
  • Connect with Peers: Join team-building activities and collaborative challenges to forge meaningful academic relationships.
  • Master Essential Tools: Learn to navigate our learning platform and online systems to streamline your academic experience.
  • Design Thinking Workshop: Enhance your innovation skills and collaborative mindset during an interactive two-day Design Thinking workshop, where you’ll tackle real-world challenges in a team setting.
  • Explore More Opportunities: Customize your experience with a variety of sessions, including:
    • Overcoming IT challenges
    • Peer knowledge-sharing activities
    • Mindfulness strategies for online learning
    • Introductory scientific research methods and academic writing
    • Professional development workshops, case studies, and career-boosting sessions led by experts

Earn a Free Certificate: The Digital University Essentials Badge recognizes your proficiency with the learning platform, your familiarity with a design thinking mindset for enhanced remote collaboration, and your self-management skills in online learning. It is awarded for active participation during the Welcome Weeks. In the master's program, this badge may be required as an entry criterion for certain classes, ensuring you have benefited from the introductory training to smoothly transition into your educational journey.
