German University of Digital Science starts teaching

On April 1, 2025, the German UDS has launched its academic operations as the first fully digital university in Germany – a milestone in the German and international higher education landscape!
Our founder, Prof. Dr. Mike Friedrichsen, kicked off the celebrations with an inspiring speech, introducing the mission of the German UDS: Democratizing access to high-quality digital education and promoting freedom, equality, and self-determination in the digital world.
Another highlight was the introduction of some of our professors, who will pave the way for innovative research and teaching with their expertise. Together, we are creating a platform for transformative education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The digital studies begin with the two-week Welcome Weeks – an orientation program for our students from around the world, including India, Ghana, Kenya, Cambodia, and Ireland. The goal is to familiarize students with our academic culture and foster a genuine sense of community in virtual collaboration.

The German UDS is offering the following study programs at the start:

  • 1-year MBA programs in “Digital Transformation” and “Digital Technologies”,
  • 2-year Master's programs in “Applied AI”, “Advanced Digital Reality”, “Cybersecurity” and “Digital Leadership” and
  • 3-month micro-degree programs for professional development.

All courses are offered exclusively in English and can be completed entirely digitally.

With its innovative concept, the German UDS is setting new standards in higher education and addressing the global IT skills shortage through accessible, high-quality digital education.
