The German UDS is thus the first state-recognized university in Europe to offer a full-fledged German university degree exclusively digitally. With its innovative concept of fully digital teaching, the university is aimed at students worldwide and enables academic education regardless of location.
Minister of Science Dr. Manja Schüle emphasized the importance of this milestone:
"With the German University of Digital Science, Prof. Christoph Meinel, who successfully led the Hasso Plattner Institute for many years, and his partner Prof. Mike Friedrichsen are enriching Brandenburg's scientific landscape with a new offer. The university aims to be the first fully digitized university in Germany. In doing so, it is pursuing a concept that is unique in this form in Germany so far. I am already looking forward to the impulses, innovations and ideas that will emanate from her. Together with HPI, we now have two digital heavyweights in the media city of Brandenburg. I wish the German University of Digital Science every success!"

"Minister Schüle's visit and the presentation of state recognition mark a turning point in the history of our institution.
